Warranty Policy

Effective Date: November 19, 2025

1. Warranty Overview and Commitment

SPI Tech stands behind the quality and authenticity of every luxury timepiece we sell. We source our products exclusively from authorized dealers, respected industry wholesalers, and reputable distributors, ensuring genuine merchandise.

Warranty Coverage: SPI Tech provides a comprehensive 2-Year Limited Warranty covering mechanical and electronic movement defects for all watches purchased from spitech.co.th.

Important Note: While we are not manufacturer-authorized dealers, we provide our own warranty that equals or exceeds manufacturer coverage terms, backed by our network of certified watchmakers and service centers.

2. Warranty Period and Activation

Warranty Activation: Your warranty is automatically activated on the delivery date (as confirmed by carrier tracking). No registration is required, but we recommend keeping your original invoice for warranty claims.

3. What is Covered Under Warranty

The SPI Tech 2-Year Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, including:

  • Movement Defects: Watches gaining time excessively (more than +30 seconds/day for mechanical, +15 seconds/month for quartz)
  • Movement Defects: Watches losing time excessively (more than -30 seconds/day for mechanical, -15 seconds/month for quartz)
  • Movement Failure: Watch stops working or fails to maintain power reserve
  • Automatic Winding Failure: Automatic movement not self-winding properly
  • Date/Day Function Failure: Date or day complications not advancing or functioning correctly
  • Chronograph Function Failure: Chronograph not starting, stopping, or resetting properly
  • Crown Malfunction: Crown not winding, setting time, or pulling out/pushing in properly
  • Case/Crystal Defects: Manufacturing defects in case or crystal (not damage from impact)
  • Bracelet/Clasp Defects: Manufacturing defects in original bracelet or clasp mechanism
  • Water Resistance Failure: Water ingress within rated specifications due to manufacturing defect

4. What is NOT Covered Under Warranty

The following are NOT covered under the SPI Tech Limited Warranty:

  • Normal Wear and Tear: Scratches, scuffs, discoloration, or cosmetic wear from regular use
  • Battery Replacement: Normal battery depletion (quartz watches typically need battery replacement every 2-3 years)
  • Straps and Bands: Leather, rubber, or fabric straps (these are consumable items with 6-month limited coverage)
  • Accidental Damage: Damage from drops, impacts, crushes, dents, or broken crystals
  • Water Damage from Misuse: Water ingress due to improper use (e.g., crown not fully closed, exceeding water resistance rating)
  • Unauthorized Repairs: Any alterations, repairs, or servicing by non-authorized service centers
  • Misuse or Abuse: Damage from extreme conditions, chemicals, magnets, or improper handling
  • Cosmetic Alterations: Aftermarket modifications, custom engraving, or replacement parts
  • Lost or Stolen Items: Warranty does not cover theft, loss, or mysterious disappearance
  • Normal Maintenance: Routine cleaning, polishing, or lubrication services
  • Aging Effects: Natural aging of luminous materials, gaskets, or seals

5. Water Resistance and Warranty Coverage

Water resistance is a key feature but requires proper understanding and care:

Important: Water resistance can degrade over time. Warranty covers manufacturing defects only if watch is used within its rated specifications. Always ensure crown is fully closed before water exposure.

6. Pre-Delivery Quality Assurance

Before shipping, every SPI Tech watch undergoes rigorous quality inspection:

  • Functionality Testing: Movement accuracy, power reserve, and all complications tested
  • Timekeeping Verification: Watches are monitored for 24-48 hours to ensure accuracy within tolerance
  • Water Resistance Testing: Pressure testing performed on water-resistant models
  • Visual Inspection: Case, crystal, dial, and bracelet inspected for defects
  • Authenticity Verification: Serial numbers verified, movement inspected by certified watchmakers

This thorough pre-delivery inspection minimizes the likelihood of receiving a defective product, but our 2-year warranty provides additional peace of mind.

7. Warranty Claim Process

If you experience a warranty-covered issue, follow these steps:

  1. Report Issue (Within 48 Hours of Discovery): Contact infospinnvtech@gmail.com with:
    • Order number and original invoice
    • Detailed description of the issue
    • Photos/videos demonstrating the problem
    • Serial number of the watch
  2. Initial Assessment (1-2 Business Days): Our team reviews your claim and may request additional information or troubleshooting steps
  3. Warranty Authorization (2-3 Business Days): If approved, you receive a Return Authorization (RA) number and prepaid shipping label
  4. Ship Watch for Service: Pack watch securely in original packaging and ship using provided label
  5. Service Center Inspection (5-10 Business Days): Certified watchmakers diagnose the issue and determine if it’s warranty-covered
  6. Repair or Replacement (2-4 Weeks): Covered repairs completed using genuine parts, or replacement provided if repair not feasible
  7. Return Shipping: Watch is shipped back to you via insured carrier

Total Turnaround Time: Most warranty services are completed within 3-5 weeks from receipt.

Note: If inspection reveals damage is not covered under warranty, you will be notified of repair costs before work proceeds. You may decline repair and have watch returned (฿800 inspection fee applies).

SPI Tech partners with certified watchmakers and authorized service centers to ensure the highest quality repairs:

  • Genuine Factory Parts: We use only genuine manufacturer parts sourced directly from authorized suppliers
  • Certified Watchmakers: All repairs performed by certified horologists with brand-specific training
  • Quality Assurance: Every repaired watch undergoes 48-hour testing before return shipment
  • Warranty Extension: Repaired components are covered for an additional 6 months from service completion

While our repair costs are significantly lower than retail service centers due to our volume partnerships, we never compromise on quality or part authenticity.

11. Warranty Voiding Conditions

The warranty becomes void if:

  • Watch has been opened, serviced, or repaired by unauthorized parties
  • Serial number has been removed, altered, or defaced
  • Aftermarket parts have been installed
  • Watch has been subjected to misuse, abuse, or negligence
  • Damage is result of accident, impact, or improper handling
  • Watch has been exposed to extreme conditions (magnets, chemicals, extreme heat/cold)
  • Customer cannot provide original purchase invoice
  • Watch is determined to be counterfeit or not purchased from SPI Tech

Important: Once warranty is voided, repairs can still be performed at customer’s expense through our service network.

12. Required Documentation for Warranty Service

To process a warranty claim, you must provide:

  • Original Invoice: Proof of purchase from SPI Tech (email confirmation accepted)
  • Watch Serial Number: Must match serial on original invoice
  • Detailed Issue Description: What is malfunctioning and when did it start
  • Visual Evidence: Photos or videos demonstrating the problem
  • Original Packaging: Ship watch in original box for protection
  • All Accessories: Include all original papers, warranty cards, and accessories

Missing Documentation: Claims without original invoice may be subject to additional verification and cannot be expedited.

13. Out-of-Warranty Service

After the 2-year warranty period expires, SPI Tech continues to offer professional service:

  • Discounted Service Rates: Up to 40% lower than authorized dealer service centers
  • Genuine Parts: Continued access to authentic manufacturer parts
  • Certified Technicians: Same expert watchmakers service your timepiece
  • Service Warranty: 6-month warranty on all paid repairs and parts
  • Free Estimates: Diagnostic and cost estimate provided at no charge

Common Out-of-Warranty Services and Pricing:

  • Battery Replacement (Quartz): ฿500 – ฿1,500
  • Movement Service (Automatic): ฿8,000 – ฿25,000
  • Crystal Replacement: ฿2,000 – ฿8,000
  • Crown Replacement: ฿1,500 – ฿5,000
  • Bracelet Repair: ฿2,000 – ฿6,000
  • Water Resistance Testing & Gasket Replacement: ฿1,200 – ฿3,000

14. Preventive Maintenance Recommendations

To maximize the lifespan and performance of your timepiece:

  • Automatic Watches: Service every 3-5 years for movement lubrication and cleaning
  • Quartz Watches: Replace battery every 2-3 years; avoid letting battery run completely dead
  • Water Resistance: Test and replace gaskets every 2 years if regularly exposed to water
  • Regular Winding: Wind automatic watches regularly if not worn daily
  • Proper Storage: Store in cool, dry place away from magnets and chemicals
  • Professional Cleaning: Annual professional cleaning recommended for daily-wear watches

Following these guidelines can prevent many common issues and extend warranty coverage effectiveness.

15. International Warranty Coverage

SPI Tech warranty is valid worldwide:

  • Global Coverage: Warranty applies regardless of customer location
  • International Service Centers: We partner with certified service centers in major countries
  • Shipping for International Customers: Customer pays shipping to Thailand; we cover return shipping for warranty repairs
  • Local Service Option: In select countries, customers may use pre-approved local service centers (prior authorization required)
  • Customs Considerations: Watches should be labeled “Returning for warranty repair – no commercial value” to avoid duties

16. Warranty Transferability

The SPI Tech warranty is transferable under specific conditions:

  • Original Warranty Period: Warranty remains valid for original 2-year period regardless of ownership change
  • Transfer Requirements: New owner must have original invoice and proof of transfer (bill of sale)
  • No Extension: Warranty period does not reset upon transfer
  • Same Coverage Terms: All original warranty terms and exclusions apply to new owner

This transferability adds value if you decide to sell your watch during the warranty period.

17. Limitation of Liability

This warranty provides specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by jurisdiction:

  • SPI Tech’s liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective products
  • We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages
  • Maximum liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product
  • This warranty is in lieu of all other express or implied warranties
  • Warranty does not cover loss of use, inconvenience, or time

18. Modifications to Warranty Policy

SPI Tech reserves the right to update this Warranty Policy to reflect service improvements or industry changes. However:

  • Changes do not affect warranties for products already purchased
  • Your purchase is covered by the warranty terms in effect at time of sale
  • Material changes will be posted on spitech.co.th with notice to existing customers
